To Build a Calaboose.

J. M. Bradley was taking subscription Monday for the erection of a place of confinement for prisoners, or in other words, a city calaboose. John had a good size list when he came around for us to sign up, and we hope he will soon have a sufficient amount raised to erect the building. Rice has long been in need of a building of above description, and we are indeed glad to think we are to possess one in the near future; not that the people in and around Rice are unruly, but if officers capture a fugitive they have to either stand and hold him or carry him to the county jail.
