- Obituary*: "GREENVILLE—Dock S. Dove, 49, of Greenville, died at 7:15 p.m. Friday at a local hospital after three years of declining health and three weeks of illness.
He was born in Calhoun Falls, son of the late Marcus L. and Margaret Dorn Dove. He had lived in Greenville 18 months, having moved here from Greenwood where he lived 25 years. He was a machinist and was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Malita Fortson Dove of Greenwood; two daughters, Mrs. Conrad Sprouse of Monroe, Ga., and Mrs. Richard E. Erett of Norwalk, Conn; four sisters, Mrs. Thomas Smith of Greenville, Mrs. Clarence Brown of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Mrs. B. L. Ridlehoover of Hodges, and Mrs. Allen Gabriel of Macon, Ga; two brothers, T. V. Dove of Greenwood and Lester Dove of Cocoa Beach, Fla; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon from the Harley Funeral Home. The Rev. Norwood Waterhouse, the Rev. Cooper Patrick and the Rev. Carl Bell will officiate. Burial will be in the Westside cemetery at Lancaster.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Clyde Dove, Harold Dove, Tom Dove Jr., Gene Smith, Larry Ouzts, Carey Hill and Jimmy Jenkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Cannon, James Seay, Buck Rushton, Roy Hendricks, Bill Moore, Lewis Sweatman, Bruce Baldwin, Burton Edge, Grady Wheatley, E. R. Lord, Grady Vinson and Leonard Turnbull.
The body will remain at the funeral home until the service hour."10 - Note*: He was a Baptist and had worked as a machinist. He lived in Greenwood, South Carolina for twenty-five years before moving to Greenville eighteen months before his death.10
