• Note*: Her obituary stated that she was "a lifetime Dallas resident," although earlier obituaries of relatives had stated that she was living in Los Angeles, California in March 1937 and August 1947 and in Phoenix, Arizona in August 1951. She was a member of the Mtehodist Church and had attended St. Mary's Academy in Dallas. She was survived by a daughter, a brother, a sister, a grandchild, and two great-grandchildren.⁵

• Note*: Information about his name is confusing. Published information on the Gause, Texas City Cemetery says that Clara Ashley is the wife of Thomas Ashley and gives his birth and death dates as 27 Mar 1902 and 19 Feb 1976. A search of the Social Security Death Index did not find a Thomas Ashley but found a William Ashley with the same dates as Thomas (except that William's death date was given only as Feb 1976) and with Bryan, Texas as his last residence. It seems likely that Thomas and William are the same person.^2,1
