  J. F. Warren, Twenty-Seven Years a Resident of Dallas, Was Found Dead by Friends.
  J. F. Warren, a well-known citizen of Dallas, died very suddenly at his office at about 9 o'clock yesterday morning. He had come into the office as usual in the morning and had gone into the lavatory. His prolonged absence caused his business associate, S. L. Mays, to go in search for him and he was found dead.
  Mr. Mays said, when interviewed: "Mr. Warren was gone so long that I went to the door of the lavatory and rapped and received no response. I became alarmed and called to him several times and got no answer. I climbed up and looked over the transom and saw him lying on the floor. I called the janitor to open the door which was bolted and we went in and found him dead."
  Curtis Hancock, who has offices in the Cockrell building, said: "My attention was first called to Mr. Warren's condition by the janitor who said that he was in the lavatory dead. I at once went in search of medical and sent word for Justice of the Peace Edwards. when the door was opened, we saw the body lying with the head against the wall and just below an iron pipe. the head was cut on the left side, from which the blood had flowed."
  Mr. Warren was a native of Georgia and came to Dallas twenty-seven years ago. About ten years ago he married Mrs. Mattie A. Camp, who survives him. He leaves two children, W. F. Warren and Miss Katie Warren. He was the stepfather of Thos. L. Camp and Mrs. Johnnie Link.
  Mr. Warren was a member of the Baptist Church and a deacon in the congregation of the First Church of Dallas.⁵
