  John Browning Passes Away in His Ninety-second Year.
  Mr. John Browning, aged 93 years, died yesterday at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Minerva Patton, at 685 Cedar Springs avenue. Mr. Browning was born in Georgia in January, 1799, from where he moved to Alabama in 1832 and to Dallas in 1870. He acquired considerable property while living in Dallas, which he divided among his heirs three years ago. His only child now surviving him is Mrs. Patton. Mrs. J. W. Barton, who lives at 217 North Ervay street, is his granddaughter. He was familiarly known in Dallas as "Uncle Jack."⁵
• Note*: He moved to Alabama in 1832 and to Dallas, Texas in 1870, where he acquired considerable property.¹

  Patton.—E. Bailey Patton, aged 60 years, died suddenly yesterday afternoon at 6:45 o'clock in this city from apoplexy. He was born in Gainesville, Ga., and came to Texas in 1870 with his parents, since which time he has resided in Dallas. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Epps G. Knight, of Dallas. The funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Epps G. Knight, 3617 Cedar Springs. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.⁷
