  • Obituary Abstract*: Died at the home of Fred Newby, where he lived, Saturday afternoon, 3 Apr 1943, at 12:30. The Newby home is located a mile and a half west of Advance, Indiana. Lifelong farmer, had been in failing health several months, died at age 80 due to heart trouble. Born 29 Dec 1862 in Boone County, Indiana. Son of Henry and Mary Airhart. Married Callie Ray on 8 apr 1897. Survivors include brother, Rev. Cornelius Airhart, New Market, Ind; two sisters, Mrs. Rodelphia Whorley, living near Advance, Ind. and Mrs. Reta Ashley (?) of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services Monday morning, 5 Apr 1943, at 10:30 o'clock at the Advance Methodist Church with Rev. Roahrig in charge. Burial in Pisgah Cemetery.10
