     "RAYVILLE, Oct. 6.—(Special)—A coroner’s jury last night officially reported that the death yesterday morning of C. S. Fortson, 48-year-old Rayville merchant, was accidental. Previously it has been stated that the merchant committed suicide.
     "Fortson was killed by a charge from an automatic shotgun. Dr. J. C. Sartor, Richland parish coroner, declared that the gun accidentally discharged while Fortson was cleaning it. A chamois skin and a gun rod were found near the victim’s body, according to the coroner’s report.
     "Fortson was alone in the house when the accident occurred, it was stated.
     "Funeral services were held today at the First Baptist church in Homer, his former home, with Rev. E. N. Weaver of Rayville, officiating. Burial was made in the Homer cemetery."⁵
