  • Obituary*: A Noble Woman Dies
    Sunday morning a little before eight o'clock, the spirit of Mrs. Annie Pickle left her body to return to the God who gave it. Mrs. Pickle, not quite two weeks ago, was taken ill of measles and afterward complications set up resulting in her death as above stated.
    The funeral services were held at her residence in Athens Sunday afternoon, conducted by Revs. Morgan of the Baptist Church, and Ferguson of the Christian Church. The remains were taken to the cemetery at or near Modoc for burial. Her husband was buried there. At the grave V. I. Stirman by request of the family, made a very appropriate talk of the life of the deceased.
    Mrs. Pickle was the daughter of D. J. Mitchell and also a niece of the late Major Martin. She was a lady of fine intelligence and of the most noble, womenly virtues. As a wife, stepmother, and a mother, a Christian and neighbor, she filled the full measure of all these relations. She leaves a daughter of about ten years of age to whom, and all other relatives and friends, the Review tenders its deepest sympathy.5

    SAN ANGELO, May 20.—(AP)—Funeral services for Walter Gallemore, 69, West Texas hardware and lumber dealer for 50 [second digit is unclear] years, will be held here late today. He died Wednesday.
    Manager of the Burton Lingo Lumber company here for 21 years, Gallemore resigned 10 years ago because of declining health. In the last 10 years he had traveled West Texas as a representative of several lumber mills.
    Gallemore was born at Rice, Navarro county, and formerly was in the building materials business at Big Spring.8
