He worked for many years as an environmental technician for Lyon County Health Department in Emporia and had lived in Emporia for twelve years when he died. He loved raising flowers, especially irises and day lilies. He died of a heart attack and was survived by his parents. a brother, a sister, and his maternal grandmother. His remains were cremated.^2,4
