Citation is to Probate Court Vault, St. Charles, Missouri, Wills and Letters of Administration, Vol. 1 (1822-1833), page 21, but no reference to date of probate is included.1
- Note*: He moved to the St. Charles District of Missouri at age 18, in about 1799. He bought his father's original St. Charles grant when his father moved to Charette in 1811. At his wife's death when he was about age 30, he was left with three daughters and a son, all of whom were minors. Another son had died in infancy. Soon afterward he was appointed a justice of the county court in St. Charles County but died about two years later.7

He was killed in such a fight near the end of the war, at Loutre Creek. Five years later the newly formed Callaway County, Missouri was named for him. They had two sons and one daughter.4
